Construction_Mechanical Engineer

Road Construction experience is required. (For HO)

• ERP Data Mastery: Ensure accurate, site-wise daily recording of all machinery log books/slips into the ERP, standardizing activity names, maintaining average instrument readings, and submitting weekly discrepancy reports to the Director for corrective action.
• Strategic Resource Planning: Prepare the monthly machinery requirement list (transfer, hire, or purchase) and manpower deployment plan based on cost-effectiveness and operational needs, submitting the finalized proposal to the Director for advance approval.
• Preventive Maintenance & Zero Breakdown: Create and strictly enforce a defined, ERP-logged maintenance schedule for every machine, ensuring all daily checks and weekly tasks are completed accurately and discrepancies are addressed immediately to achieve zero machinery downtime.
• Cost-Controlled Asset Viability: Analyze repair and maintenance expenses for each machine, defining a maximum permissible repair expenditure limit (relative to machine age/cost) to guide decisions on whether maintenance, hiring, or replacement is the most cost-effective long-term solution.
• Fuel Efficiency & Monitoring: Ensure regular fine-tuning of all Diesel engines to achieve optimum mileage, and closely monitor the diesel average via logs and random checks to detect theft, mechanical issues, and ensure correct operator usage.
• Inventory Management: Closely monitor and control spare parts stock to prevent obsolescence or excess inventory, strictly enforcing the return of unused parts from sites to the correct designated store.
• Regulatory Compliance & Site Visits: Ensure machinery is only used for its intended purpose and with Mechanical Department permission. Conduct regular site visits to verify actual operations and uphold standards for machine maintenance, cleanliness, and working condition.
• Training & Competency: Implement training programs for all drivers, operators, and supervisors focused on improving machinery usage efficiency, correct operation techniques, and accurate logbook maintenance.
• Tyre Management Protocol: Maintain accurate tyre records, regularly check tyre health, avoid inter-machine transfers, track used tyres, and assess the potential for refurbishment to optimize asset utilization.
• ERP Implementation Authority: Ensure the complete and effective utilization of the ERP system across the entire mechanical function, including allocating sufficient manpower to guarantee accurate and timely data entry.
