Job Description

Role Overview: As a Communication Specialist at Smiths Detection, your primary responsibility will be to develop and deliver end-to-end communications that support the business's culture, growth ambitions, and strategic priorities across both internal and external audiences. You will be expected to write expertly crafted communications that are simple, clear, and tailored to the needs of employees, customers, and stakeholders. Additionally, you will coordinate, plan, and deliver employee engagement activities and events, support external communications activity, create engaging content using strong storytelling, and advise stakeholders on effective communication approaches. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver end-to-end communications supporting business culture and strategic priorities - Write clear and tailored communications for internal and external audiences - Coordinate and deliver employee engagement activities and events - Support external communications activities such as drafting press releases and assisting with social media - Create engaging content across various channels and translate technical information into clear messages - Advise stakeholders on effective communication approaches - Support administration of Employee Engagement Networks and assist with external communications campaigns Qualifications Required: - Strong interest in communications and storytelling for internal and external audiences - Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt tone and style - Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines - Basic understanding of communications platforms and tools - Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Google Suite for reporting and planning - Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and brand voice Please note that the company offers excellent training and opportunities for career growth, an inclusive environment, strong leadership, and a focus on safety and wellbeing.
