Role Overview: As a Commis Chef at Savour Street Cafe in Trivandrum, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team with food preparation, basic cooking, hygiene maintenance, and cleaning tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking dishes, ensuring quality and consistency. - Accurately wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients for various recipes. - Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in food preparation and storage areas. - Store, label, and utilize food items following safety guidelines to prevent contamination. - Plate and present dishes according to the specifications provided by the Chef de Partie. - Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and monitoring supplies. - Adhere to kitchen hygiene and safety protocols at all times. - Contribute to basic cleaning duties, including cleaning workstations and kitchen utensils. Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; culinary diploma is preferred. - Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous, and readiness to assist with kitchen tasks as needed. - Ability to take directions from senior staff members and eagerness to acquire new culinary skills. - Strong teamwork skills, effective time management, and keen attention to detail. - Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
