Job Summary:

ZOCA Café, Bhiwani is seeking a skilled and motivated Commi 1 to join our kitchen team, specializing in Continental and Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preparing a variety of dishes from these cuisines, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation meet the restaurant’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a wide range of Continental and Chinese dishes as per standardized recipes.
• Handle mise-en-place, including chopping vegetables, marinating, and prepping sauces.
• Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and maintain smooth workflow.
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion sizes, and presentation of all dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and kitchen SOPs strictly.
• Manage proper storage of ingredients and minimize wastage.
• Assist in inventory checks and report any shortages or spoilage.
• Support junior kitchen staff and help in their training when required.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to meet service timelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Commi in Continental and Chinese cuisine.
• Good knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes for both cuisines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to work long hours on feet.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary diploma or certificate in hotel management or culinary arts (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience in a multi-cuisine restaurant environment
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, FSSAI)

Work Schedule:

• Rotational shifts (Lunch and Dinner)
• Availability on weekends and public holidays is required
