Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commi 1 to assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese and Continental dishes in our multi-cuisine kitchen. The ideal candidate will support the Chef de Partie by maintaining quality, hygiene, and efficiency during food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and cooking a wide range of Continental and Chinese vegetarian dishes including soups, starters, main courses, and sauces as per recipes and standards.
• Perform mise-en-place duties such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, dough, and batters.
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of dishes.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines strictly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstation.
• Help in inventory management by reporting ingredient usage and shortages.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Adhere to all restaurant and kitchen SOPs and standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in Chinese and Continental cuisine, preferably in a multi-cuisine or vegetarian kitchen.
• Good knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes for both cuisines.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong sense of hygiene and food safety awareness.
• Ability to work well in a team and take instructions from senior chefs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience in vegetarian kitchens is an advantage.

Work Schedule:

• Rotational shifts covering lunch and dinner services.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.
