Application Enablement Services

Role Overview

Application Enablement Services (AES)

Key Responsibilities

1. Access & Credential Management

Facilitate access to infrastructure servers and database layers for application teams.
Provide or reset passwords for system accounts (e.g., DEV SYS).
Generate and distribute public/private key pairs for secure access.
Coordinate with
Security
and
IAM teams
for access provisioning.

2. Configuration & Deployment Support

Modify configuration files (e.g., updating URLs in development environments).
Assist in deploying application components on infrastructure servers.
Install required drivers or libraries as requested by application teams.
Execute manual commands/scripts on servers when automation is not feasible.

3. Service Operations & Runtime Support

Start/stop application or middleware services on request.
Restart services like QS or other application-specific components.
Perform scheduled cleanups or maintenance tasks on production servers.

4. Certificate & Security Updates

Coordinate SSL certificate updates and renewals on application servers.
Ensure timely implementation of security patches or updates as per infrastructure guidelines.

5. Environment Validation & Reporting

Share screenshots or inventories of installed software on servers.
Validate environment readiness for deployments or testing.
Support audit and compliance checks by providing required infra-level data.

Required Skills

Strong understanding of
Linux/Windows server administration
.
Familiarity with
SSL certificates
, IAM processes, and security patching.
Ability to execute scripts and commands (Shell, PowerShell).
Knowledge of application deployment processes and middleware operations.
Experience with ITSM tools (e.g.,
ServiceNow
) for ticket management.
