Job Description

As a CNC Programmer, your role involves developing, writing, and optimizing CNC programs to meet production specifications and ensure efficient and accurate machining operations. You will need a deep understanding of CNC machines, tools, and software, as well as the ability to interpret complex technical drawings. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and write CNC programs using software such as Mastercam, G-code, or other CAM software for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines. - Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to create accurate machining paths. - Ensure CNC programs optimize machine run time and tool usage to maximize production efficiency. - Select the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials and machining processes. - Assist in setting up machines, fixtures, and tooling for production runs, ensuring accuracy and repeatability. - Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to machine setup, tool paths, or programming errors. - Continuously review and improve CNC programs to enhance cycle times, reduce waste, and improve product quality. - Collaborate with production engineers to optimize machining processes and suggest improvements to tooling, equipment, and techniques. - Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce downtime. - Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that finished parts meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements. - Revise programs as needed based on feedback from machinists, quality inspectors, and production results. - Conduct post-process inspections to validate the accuracy of CNC programs. - Communicate effectively with machinists and operators to ensure proper understanding and execution of CNC programs. - Provide training and guidance to machine operators on CNC programming best practices and setup procedures. - Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and production, to meet production deadlines and optimize workflows.
