CMM Operator

Job Title: CMM Operator

The CMM Operator is responsible for inspecting parts and components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure they meet required dimensional specifications. This role ensures high levels of precision and quality in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CMM equipment (e.g., ZEISS, Mitutoyo, Hexagon, etc.) to measure dimensions of mechanical components.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), In-process and Final Inspection using CMM and conventional tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols, and 3D models.
• Create and modify CMM inspection programs using software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS).
• Document inspection results and generate reports for quality assurance.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for non-conforming parts.
• Maintain inspection records and comply with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Calibrate and maintain measuring instruments as per calibration schedule.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams for continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficient in CMM operation and programming.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with metrology and measurement principles.
• Hands-on experience with quality inspection tools.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years in CMM operation in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
