Cluster Manager Solar

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage multiple solar power plants within a defined cluster, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. The role focuses on operational excellence through proactive maintenance, performance analytics, vendor management, and people development across sites.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cluster Operations & Performance Management

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all solar plants within the cluster.
  
• Monitor and analyze plant generation, performance ratio (PR), availability, and losses.
  
• Drive performance improvement initiatives to maximize yield and reduce downtime.
  
• Review site KPIs, MIS reports, and ensure corrective actions for deviations.
  
• Ensure all plants meet contractual, statutory, and compliance obligations.
  

2. Maintenance & Technical Supervision

• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs across sites.
  
• Guide Site Incharges and technical teams in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  
• Review maintenance reports, spare parts consumption, and equipment health.
  
• Ensure timely execution of OEM warranty claims and AMC service deliverables.
  

3. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure 100% compliance with safety norms, audits, and risk mitigation measures.
  
• Conduct regular safety and quality audits across sites.
  
• Ensure compliance with CEA, SLDC, DISCOM, and other statutory regulations.
  
• Promote a strong culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
  

4. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor, and guide site teams including Site Incharges, engineers, and technicians.
  
• Conduct periodic reviews, goal setting, and performance feedback sessions.
  
• Drive training programs to enhance technical, safety, and behavioral competencies.
  
• Foster teamwork and accountability across the cluster.
  

5. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Oversee service contracts for housekeeping, module cleaning, vegetation control, and security.
  
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to SLA and quality standards.
  
• Support procurement of spares and consumables through coordination with SCM.
  

6. Reporting & MIS

• Prepare and present cluster performance reports for management review.
  
• Maintain accurate data on generation, losses, equipment health, and expenses.
  
• Support business analytics and benchmarking of site performance.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, SCADA, HT/LT systems, and substation operations.
  
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP/CMMS, and data visualization tools.
  
• Sound understanding of HSE and quality management systems.
  

Qualification & Experience

• Qualification:

  B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy.
