Job Title: Planning Engineer Civil Location: Kothrud Department: Engineering/Project Management Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Planning Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in the civil engineering field. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all planning and scheduling activities for civil construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Prepare and update project timelines, resource allocation, and key milestones. Ensure that the project schedule is aligned with the overall project objectives and construction phases. 2. Resource and Cost Planning: Plan and track resource utilization, including labor, materials, and equipment. Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monitor ongoing costs against the schedule. Identify and manage project risks that may impact the schedule and costs. 3. Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the progress of construction works and ensure timely completion of project milestones. Provide weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports to project managers, highlighting any delays or issues. Analyze deviations from the planned schedule and recommend corrective actions. 4. Coordination & Communication: Coordinate with project stakeholders, including site engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery. Collaborate with project teams to assess construction and procurement schedules. 5. Document Control: Maintain project documentation related to planning, such as schedules, plans, and progress reports. Track changes and amendments to the original plan and communicate these changes to relevant parties. 6. Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks to project timelines and provide proactive solutions. Monitor critical path tasks and mitigate any delays that could affect the project schedule. 7. Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure compliance with the company's planning procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure that the planning process adheres to best practices. Key Skills and Qualifications: Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Experience: 5-8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the civil construction industry. Experience with project planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar). Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and safety standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of scheduling and project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.). Good understanding of cost estimation and budget management. Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
