Job Purpose

The MEP Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities for construction projects, ensuring they are executed in accordance with project specifications, timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

  • Lead and manage all MEP-related activities from design review through commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate MEP works with civil, architectural, structural, and finishing teams to avoid clashes.
  • Review and approve MEP drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and value engineering initiatives.

Project Execution

  • Ensure MEP works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
  • Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of all MEP systems.
  • Manage interfaces between subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Resolve site issues, technical queries, and construction challenges efficiently.

Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with project quality plans, local authority regulations, and international standards.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure testing & commissioning procedures are followed.
  • Maintain quality records, inspections, and as-built documentation.

Cost & Budget Control

  • Monitor MEP budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures.
  • Review subcontractor invoices, variations, and claims.
  • Support procurement and ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce HSE policies and ensure all MEP works are executed safely.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor MEP engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities for approvals and inspections.
  • Attend project progress meetings and provide MEP status reports.
  • Support final handover, snag closure, and defect liability period activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical (mandatory).
  • Minimum

    15 years of experience

    in MEP works within the

    construction industry

    .

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
  • Familiarity with local authority codes, international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.).
