Reporting To: Project Head

Role Purpose

The Circle Head will lead the strategic and operational execution of Smart Metering initiatives within the assigned geographical region (Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur). This role is pivotal in driving the deployment, performance optimization, and customer-centric delivery of smart metering solutions, aligning with Adani Electricitys mission to provide innovative, sustainable, and technology-driven energy solutions. The Circle Head will ensure seamless project execution, stakeholder collaboration, and adherence to quality and budgetary benchmarks, contributing to the business unit’s growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end execution of smart metering projects within the assigned circle, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the deployment and operational efficiency of smart metering systems.
• Manage cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability to achieve project milestones and objectives.
• Oversee budget planning and financial management for smart metering projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, vendors, and internal teams, to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of smart metering systems, implementing corrective actions to address any operational challenges.
• Drive customer engagement initiatives to enhance user experience and adoption of smart metering solutions.
• Ensure alignment of circle-level operations with the broader strategic goals of the Smart Metering business unit and Adani Electricity.
• Leverage data analytics and digital tools to track project progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
• Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience of 12–15 years in project execution, team leadership, and stakeholder management within the utilities or energy sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale technology-driven projects, preferably in smart metering or related domains.
• Strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.

Years & Type of Experience

• 12-15 years of experience in project management, with a focus on smart metering, energy distribution, or similar technology-driven initiatives.
• Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships in a dynamic business environment.

Domain Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of smart metering technologies, deployment strategies, and operational frameworks.
• Familiarity with energy distribution systems, customer engagement models, and utility sector best practices.
• Expertise in budget management, quality assurance, and performance optimization in large-scale projects.

Digital & Operational Tools

• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with data analytics platforms and tools for monitoring and optimizing smart metering operations.
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives and the integration of advanced technologies in utility operations.

Leadership Capabilities

• Proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse teams to achieve strategic and operational goals.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
