Job Description

Food preparation and cooking Preparing ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and cutting fruits, meats, and vegetables. Assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and quality standards. Portioning ingredients and dishes accurately before cooking. Learning and following precise instructions from the senior chefs. Kitchen maintenance and hygiene Maintaining high standards of personal and kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. Ensuring work areas, utensils, and equipment are kept clean and in good order. Following all food safety and sanitation regulations. Safely operating kitchen equipment and tools. Inventory and stock management Handling and storing food items properly, monitoring their condition, and rotating stock. Assessing inventory levels and reporting any resupply needs to the senior chef. Assisting with receiving and checking deliveries. Teamwork and support Working closely with the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Assisting with other duties and on other sections of the kitchen when needed or as required by the workload. Attending meetings and training sessions to learn and grow as a chef. Key skills Basic culinary techniques and knife skills. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Time management to complete tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team. Attention to detail and a passion for quality food. Willingness to learn and develop culinary knowledge.
