We’re Hiring: Child Welfare Officer (UG-CWO)

Program: Udayan Ghar
Reporting To: Assistant Director
Location: Greater Noida
Mode: Work from Office

About Udayan Ghar
Udayan Ghar provides family-like, small-group homes for children (6–18 years) in need of care and protection under the Juvenile Justice Act. With 12 homes across Delhi NCR, Kurukshetra, and Jaipur, the program has supported 2,429+ children since 1996—helping them heal, learn, and build independent futures.

Role Overview: Child Welfare Officer

As a Child Welfare Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, development, and well-being of children in care. You will manage case work, implement rehabilitation and aftercare plans, ensure compliance with JJ Act norms, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to support each child’s journey toward restoration and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to JJ Act standards of care and licensing compliances
  • Case work for de-institutionalization, restoration, and transition to aftercare
  • Develop and monitor individualized care & rehabilitation plans
  • Oversee physical and mental health support, including MHP coordination
  • Maintain case files and documentation for CWC, courts, and internal reviews
  • Liaise with schools, hospitals, police stations, and government bodies
  • Support donor engagement through progress reports and funding proposals
  • Conduct training & capacity-building sessions for children and staff
  • Contribute to financial management and budgeting

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (NGO/development sector preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of JJ Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012, and child protection laws
  • Understanding of child development, trauma, and group care settings
