About Program: Udayan Ghar is a haven of hope and healing, offering loving, small-group homes to children aged 6-18 who require care and protection under the Juvenile Justice Act. At its core, the program is dedicated to nurturing every child’s potential through a holistic approach that emphasizes quality education, health , individualized attention, and heartfelt mentorship. Role Overview: As a Child Welfare Officer , you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being, education, and overall development of children under our care. You will manage case histories, create individualized care plans, and facilitate the smooth functioning of the home. Your responsibilities will include liaising with external stakeholders, providing education support, organizing life-skill programs, and maintaining comprehensive records. Additionally, you will contribute to donor engagement by preparing progress reports and funding proposals to support the children’s needs. Key Responsibilities: (MHP missing, rehabilitation, Case Work for De-Institutionalization, Restoration and Transition of children to aftercare, renewal of license) Adherence to Standards of Care of each child & YA w.r.t the JJ Act · Infrastructure-Maintain Child Care Institution and provide care & protection to the child. Conduct case history reviews, assess care needs, and prepare children and homes for admission. Facilitate timely submission of documentation for renewals of registration certificate. · Weekly checking of registers and compliances as per JJ Act and signed. · Case Work for De-Institutionalization, Restoration and Transition of children to After Care · Design and implement individualized care and rehabilitation plans for each child, ensuring regular monitoring, documentation, and assessment of their progress. · Health & Mental Health – Ensure Comprehensive Health (Physical and Mental) which includes Checkup and assistance in aid. · Facilitate educational support and liaise with schools, healthcare agencies, and service providers. · Maintain case files and documentation for Child Welfare Committee production, courts, and internal records. Visit to Police Station , Hospitals and other Government/private bodies, as required. · Stake Holders- Write funding proposals for children’s development programs and provide progress reports to donors and sponsors. · Training & Devlopment- Collaborate with the team, attend meetings, and ensure proper documentation. Program Overview – FiT (Families Together) Launched in 2022, the FiT program aims to prevent unnecessary separation of children from families and reintegrate children from institutional care. The initiative uses a unique "Circle of Care and Protection" framework with 10 life domains including health, education, finances, legal entitlements, and parenting. Role Overview The Case Manager will provide holistic, long-term support to vulnerable families in the community by: Conducting assessments and developing case plans Coordinating with government and NGO services Monitoring progress through home visits and reports Supporting families to become self-reliant through structured graduation plans Ensuring documentation and compliance for donors and internal systems Key Responsibilities Conduct family assessments and develop support plans Coordinate access to services and referrals Monitor progress and outcomes through regular follow-ups Facilitate sustainable community-led solutions and exit strategies Maintain thorough case documentation and donor reporting Who Can Apply? About Udayan Care Udayan Care is a nationally recognized NGO working for over 24 years to uplift disadvantaged children, women, and youth through quality care, education, and livelihood programs. The organization runs an Aftercare Outreach Program (AOP) supporting care leavers (18+) through education, skilling, and mentoring, helping them transition into independent adulthood. Role Purpose To lead and coordinate the implementation of the Aftercare Outreach Program (AOP) in Gujarat, ensuring smooth operations, stakeholder engagement, youth mentorship, financial management, and program reporting. Key Responsibilities Lead AOP operations in Ahmedabad and manage local activities Directly work with care leavers and youth aged 16–18 in CCIs Liaise with government, funders, NGOs, mentors, training institutes, and corporates Manage youth finances, monthly budgets, and program expenses Organize life skills workshops and coordinate trainers Facilitate youth placements, internships, and exposure visits Maintain records, reports, and ERP data entries Support strategic program decisions and ensure donor deliverables Build and maintain program-related partnerships Qualifications & Skills Education : Master’s degree (preferably in Social Work or Law) Experience : Minimum 2 years in youth-focused programs, preferably with NGOs Skills : Strong communication and documentation Proficient in MS Office and Google Drive Organized and detail-oriented Experience with underprivileged youth is desirable Safeguarding Policy Strict compliance with Udayan Care’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies is mandatory for all roles.
