Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at nbyula, you will be responsible for leading the technology strategy, architecture, and product innovation for our global talent mobility platform. You will work from our Berlin headquarters in a hybrid role that requires office attendance. Your role will involve leading a lean team of engineers to apply cutting-edge AI solutions to end-user problems. You will need to balance and drive the creation, scalability, security, and AI-driven innovation of our platform. This hands-on leadership position requires expertise in AI, backend and frontend development, cloud architecture, and product management. **Responsibilities:** - **Speed of creation over everything else:** Track deliverable progress in hours, make rapid decisions for long or short-term planning, and ensure functional deliverables, fixes, and enhancements are shipped quickly. - **Technology Leadership & Automation Architecture:** Define and execute the technical strategy, ensure scalable and secure infrastructure, and plan for automation of tasks at all levels. - **AI & Product Innovation:** Oversee AI development and integration to enhance the business and product. - **Backend Development:** Drive development using AWS, Google Cloud & APIs, Node.js, and Python. - **Frontend Development:** Lead the frontend team using Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS to ensure a seamless user experience. - **Product and User behavior understanding:** Collaborate with other teams to translate business goals into technical deliverables. - **Team Leadership:** Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and execution. - **Security & Compliance:** Develop systems to protect user data and intellectual property. - **Operational Excellence:** Optimize development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud performance monitoring. - **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Work closely with the CEO, product managers, and users to shape the product vision. **Qualifications:** - 7+ years in software development, including 3+ years in a leadership role. - Experience building and scaling B2C platforms. - Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, AWS, Docker, and other relevant technologies. - Strong understanding of AWS architecture, cloud security, and CI/CD best practices. - Experience with DevOps tools and deployment on AWS ECS Cluster Auto Scaling. - Product management experience aligning technology with business goals. - Strong team leadership skills and problem-solving abilities. - Fluency in English with the ability to articulate complex tasks effectively. - Bonus points for experience in building and scaling marketplaces and native app development.
