Position: Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO)

Contract Details

  • Duration:

    3 years initially, extendable up to 5 years (subject to performance & medical fitness)
  • Nature:

    Full-time, contractual (no regular employment rights)
  • Termination:

    Either party can terminate with 1-month notice or 1-month remuneration in lieu

Job Profile / Key Responsibilities

Objective:

Major Roles:

  1. Sustainable Business Strategy

  • Formulate long-term sustainable growth strategy & diversification plans
  • Set carbon reduction, water stewardship, biodiversity, and land reclamation targets
  • Drive low-carbon tech, renewable energy, fuel diversification, and eco-restoration
  1. Sustainable Value Chain

  • Implement circular economy initiatives, zero waste, and by-product valorization
  • Address Scope 3 emissions through collaboration with contractors and customers
  1. External Ecosystem Engagement

  • Represent the organization in policy, investor relations, ESG ratings, and sustainability forums
  • Drive community development, livelihood programs, and just transition initiatives
  1. Internal Change Management

  • Cascade ESG KPIs across business functions
  • Integrate sustainability into performance management & incentives
  • Conduct awareness campaigns and foster a culture of sustainability

Location:

Eligibility

  • Education:

    BE/B.Tech (Mining / Environment / Metallurgy) + MBA or Certificate in Sustainability Management / Senior Leadership Program
  • Experience:

    20–25 years in leadership or strategic sustainability roles
  • Skills:

  • Deep understanding of mining-specific environmental & social risks
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and sustainable supply chain practices
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Remuneration & Allowances

  • Remuneration:

    Consolidated, negotiable based on previous/current salary
  • Allowances:

    Only transport facility; travel as per company norms
