Role Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and mission-driven Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to guide SRLCs long-term strategy and organizational growth. The CSO will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of SRLCs programs, advising leadership on opportunities for expansion, ensuring operational excellence, and strengthening SRLCs impact footprint in the social sector. This role demands a leader who combines deep knowledge of the development sector with strong analytical and strategic capabilities, and a heart aligned with SRLC’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Vision

• Lead the formulation and execution of SRLC’s long-term strategy in alignment with its mission and values.
• Provide strategic foresight on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in the social sector.
• Conduct gap analysis and identify priority areas for organizational growth.

Program & Geographic Expansion

• Advise leadership on opportunities for expanding SRLC’s reach across geographies, themes of care, and new project areas.
• Evaluate feasibility of expansion initiatives, ensuring alignment with SRLC’s values and long-term sustainability.
• Drive research into potential communities, sectors, and partnerships.

Social Sector Insights & Advisory

• Stay abreast of developments in the social impact sector and apply insights to strengthen SRLC’s positioning.
• Advise on best practices and innovative models for program design and delivery.
• Represent SRLC in external forums, conferences, and networks to enhance visibility and partnerships.

Operational Efficiency & Organizational Excellence

• Work closely with leadership to drive operational efficiency and resource optimization across programs. Identify and implement systems, frameworks, and processes to improve effectiveness.
• Support leadership in building a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous learning.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

• Build strategic partnerships with funders, government agencies, NGOs, and sector experts.
• Foster synergy between internal and external stakeholders to amplify SRLC’s impact.
• Provide advisory support to trustees and senior leadership on strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in strategy, program management, or leadership roles, with at least 3 years at a senior strategic level.
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, organizational development, and program expansion.
• Strong understanding of the social sector, development impact, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to balance vision-setting with hands-on execution.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English required; Gujarati proficiency desirable.
