Chief Risk Officer

As the Chief Risk Officer at our company based in Gurgaon, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Enterprise Risk & Governance: - Define and lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework covering various risks such as strategic, financial, operational, compliance, fraud, and cyber risks. - Establish and maintain risk appetite and tolerance levels aligned with Board directives and regulatory expectations. - Serve as Secretary to the Boards Risk & Audit Committees, presenting dashboards, emerging risks, and actionable insights. - Strengthen onboarding controls including KYC/KYB, merchant underwriting, and synthetic ID detection. - Implement advanced transaction monitoring techniques such as rules engines, velocity limits, device fingerprinting, behavioural analytics, and anomaly detection. - Oversee disputes, chargebacks, and merchant fraud, driving root-cause fixes and recovery strategies while ensuring a balance between secure yet frictionless journeys for customers and merchants. - Fraud & Financial Crime: - Lead fraud risk management efforts across consumer and merchant channels. - Monitor emerging fraud patterns such as UPI/social engineering scams, mule accounts, merchant collusion, synthetic identities, and phishing. - Ensure strong AML/CFT programs including suspicious transaction monitoring, reporting, and engagement with the FIU. - Align fraud prevention strategies with global best practices and RBI expectations. - Credit, Operational & Regulatory Risk: - Oversee credit risk controls related to digital lending and merchant credit lines. - Establish operational risk frameworks covering process risk, outsourcing/vendor risk, and business continuity. - Ensure full compliance with RBI Master Directions including KYC, PPI, BNPL, Digital Lending, data protection laws, and statutory reporting. - Technology, Analytics & Risk Infrastructure: - Oversee the deployment of fraud monitoring and risk management platforms such as Actimize, Falcon, SAS, Feedzai, and ML models. - Build predictive dashboards and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for early warning signals and Board reporting.
