Job Description

Role & responsibilities

As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), you will be responsible for leading the overall brand strategy, marketing operations, media planning, and customer engagement initiatives across the organization. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive strategic marketing plans, deliver measurable brand and business impact, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer experience and brand equity.


You will oversee all arms of the marketing department including CRM, PR, Events, Social Media, Digital Marketing, and E-commerce, ensuring integrated campaigns and brand coherence across all touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand & Media Strategy Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated brand and media plans across all channels digital, traditional, in-store, and experiential.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all brand-related communications, both internal and external.
  • Translate business objectives into marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, loyalty, and sales.
  • Manage and supervise agencies and creative partners, ensuring alignment with brand goals and timely delivery of assets.

Departmental Oversight and Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage all functions within the marketing department including:

    Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

      Ensure data-driven, personalized customer journeys.

    Public Relations (PR)

      Build strong brand reputation and media relations.

    Events & Activations

      Plan high-impact brand activations to drive customer engagement.

    Social Media & Content

      Drive consistent, engaging storytelling aligned with brand values.

    Digital Marketing & SEO/SEM

      Oversee paid and organic performance marketing campaigns.

    E-commerce Marketing

     – Collaborate with the e-commerce team to grow digital revenue and conversion.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities within the marketing team based on campaign and media planning needs.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven team culture.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Establish weekly reporting structures across all marketing arms to monitor performance metrics (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, conversion, traffic, brand recall, etc.
  • Provide actionable insights and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.
  • Present monthly and quarterly updates and executive board on marketing impact and brand health.

Strategic Planning & Budget Control

  • Develop and implement annual marketing strategy aligned with business goals and seasonal retail cycles.
  • Lead budget forecasting, allocation, and control across all marketing functions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximum return on investment.
  • Monitor and report on marketing spend vs. outcomes, making real-time adjustments to optimize performance.

  • Brand Voice & Share of Voice Management

    Define, refine, and uphold the brand’s tone, identity, and positioning across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual aesthetics across marketing channels.

Business Impact & P&L Contribution

  • Work closely with the finance and business teams to align marketing efforts with the company's Profit & Loss (P&L) objectives.
  • Track and report the impact of marketing strategies on sales performance, customer lifetime value, footfall (offline), and web traffic (online).
  • Drive initiatives that directly support topline revenue growth and contribute to bottom-line profitability.
