Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Officer to support our US-based retail and consumer goods client. The candidate will work remotely from India and should have strong expertise in financial strategy, retail industry operations, and QuickBooks accounting systems. This role requires close collaboration with US stakeholders and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the companys financial strategy aligned with business growth goals.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Manage end-to-end financial operations, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and audits.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Build and manage financial models for revenue forecasting, profitability, and expansion planning.
• Monitor retail KPIs such as gross margin, inventory turnover, COGS, pricing, and channel profitability.
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost management for retail & consumer goods operations.
• Work closely with US-based stakeholders on strategic and operational financial decisions.
• Ensure compliance with US accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Lead and mentor remote finance team members (if applicable).

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a CFO or Senior Finance Leader, preferably in Retail / Consumer Goods.
• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Advanced level).
• Deep understanding of US financial practices, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing financial operations for US-based companies.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, supply chain finance, and costing in retail business models.
• Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, and business partnering skills.
• Familiarity with ecommerce / omnichannel retail finance is a plus.
• Ability to work in overlapping US business hours.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) qualification.
• Experience working remotely with international clients.
• Exposure to POS systems and integration with QuickBooks is an added advantage.
