Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the CFO is to prepare and implement financial strategy, policies and procedures and financial controls framework in order to ensure the achievement of institution wise financial objectives, controls and financial stability. The person will ensure internal controls are effectively in place and functional. He/she will also ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulation.

The incumbent will be leading Finance functions including Accounting and General Ledger, Financial/Management/Regulatory reporting, Forecast and Budgeting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Annual/periodic audits facilitations, Taxation, Finance systems, Grants/Funds management and Treasury. This job reports to the CEO/Director and the incumbent shall function in accordance with the applicable policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the companys financial strategy to support overall business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the MD and board based on financial analysis and forecasts.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, and investment strategy.

2. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Manage financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Take charge of Finance, Accounts, All Statutory Compliance and Taxation matters. Ensure that all accounting records are properly and timely maintained, reporting cycles and other associated engagements are successfully performed in an effective and timely manner in accordance with the regulatory and organizational requirements.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Direct annual budgeting processes and monthly/quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Present financial results to stakeholders clearly and effectively.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Assess and manage financial risks, including cash flow, investments, and liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and tax requirements.
  • Establish policies for auditing, accounting, and financial operations.

5. Capital Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure financial stability.
  • Evaluate funding options and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee capital raising initiatives, including debt and equity financing.

6. Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with department heads to optimize financial performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee finance, accounting, procurement, and Income Tax Returns and All related statutory.
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across the organization.
  • Creating business value through technology, ensuring the tech systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with institution goals. Ensuring availability of timely and reliable information in the organization through technology/digital platforms.
  • Oversee the annual audit process.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide financial advice and support to the MD / Board Members and other senior executives.
  • Oversee the company's internal control systems.
  • Manage the company's cash flow and investments

Qualifications & Requirements

  • CA/CMA and Any other Equivalent qualification.
  • 5-10 years’ experience.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, strategic planning, and risk management.
