Chemical Process Manager - Greenfield Projects

Role Overview:

Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all chemical process activities for a new greenfield project. The role involves process design, equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and stabilization of operations while ensuring safety, quality, cost efficiency, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Greenfield Project Phase:

• Collaborate with project/design teams to finalize PFDs and P&IDs.
  
• Provide technical inputs for design, selection, and procurement of reactors, heat exchangers, tanks, and other equipment.
  
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory standards (GPCB, Pollution Control, etc.).
  
• Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, and process safety reviews.
  
• Supervise installation, commissioning, and performance validation of process equipment and utilities.
  

Operational Phase (Post-Commissioning):

• Lead plant operations to meet production targets and optimize costs.
  
• Monitor and control key process parameters to maintain product quality.
  
• Troubleshoot process deviations and drive corrective actions.
  
• Ensure safety and environmental statutory compliance.
  
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, and EHS teams for process improvements.
  
• Train and develop shift engineers and operators for efficient plant operations.
  

Technical Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of chemical process design & operations.
  
• Experience in chemical/fertilizer/process industries, especially greenfield projects.
  
• Expertise in PFD, P&ID, HAZOP, RCA, and process safety.
  
• Knowledge of statutory compliances (Factories Act, GPCB, Pollution Control, ISO/OHSAS).
  
• Proficiency in DCS/PLC-based control systems.

Qualification & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
  
• 812 years of experience in chemical process operations, with 3–5 years in project execution/commissioning.
  
• Experience in fertilizer plants or greenfield/expansion projects preferred.
