Job Description

Job Summary:

The Chef de Partie – Continental is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Continental dishes, following the restaurant’s standards and recipes. The role includes managing a specific section of the kitchen, maintaining food quality, ensuring hygiene standards, and supporting overall kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Continental dishes as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section (e.g., pantry, grill, sauté, garnish).
  • Ensure timely and consistent food preparation during service hours.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food trials.
  • Monitor portion control, minimize wastage, and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all mise-en-place is prepared before each service.
  • Coordinate with the Sous Chef and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Properly handle kitchen equipment and ensure regular maintenance.
  • Train and guide Commis chefs in Continental cuisine and kitchen practices.
  • Assist in stock management, inventory checks, and maintaining par levels.
  • Follow FSSAI and HACCP guidelines for food safety.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
  • Good understanding of kitchen stations and operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-volume operations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Creativity in food presentation and recipe improvement.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/Certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience as a Commis I/II or CDP in Continental cuisine.
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or café is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹27,500.00 per month
