CAD Engineer

We are looking for a skilled CAD Engineer (UG NX) to support automotive design, 3D modeling, and engineering documentation. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in UG NX, strong mechanical understanding, and the ability to interpret and create detailed CAD data.

Key Responsibilities1. CAD Modelling & Design

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and components using UG NX.
• Modify and update CAD data as per engineering requirements.
• Develop 2D engineering drawings for review, RFQ, and release.

2. Engineering Documentation

• Prepare drawings with accurate dimensions, GD&T, tolerances, and annotations.
• Maintain design documents, check-sheets, and drawing records.
• Ensure all designs meet internal and customer standards.

3. Layout & Packaging

• Support layout studies and part packaging activities.
• Evaluate part fitment, clearances, and space constraints.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for design feasibility.

4. Design Feasibility & Problem Solving

• Assess manufacturability and assembly feasibility of components.
• Incorporate feedback from engineers, vendors, and production teams.
• Analyze past issues to avoid design failures.

5. Coordination & Communication

• Work with senior engineers for design updates and improvements.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams for approvals and modifications.
• Prepare reports and presentations when required.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in UG NX (2306 or similar)
• Good understanding of mechanical design concepts
• Knowledge of 3D modeling & 2D drafting
• Basic knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, fits, and datum
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good communication skills (English preferred)
• Problem-solving and analytical skills

Eligibility Criteria

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
• 1–2 years of experience in CAD design or automotive components
• Hands-on experience using UG NX software

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in automotive interior/exterior parts (added advantage)
• Knowledge of ECN process, tooling basics, and DFM/DFA
• Ability to work under deadlines and deliver accurate designs
