Position Summary

The Business Development Manager – Mobility, Aftermarket will drive new business initiatives under the global Chain-to-Belt (C2B) conversion program within the 2-Wheeler (Motorcycle & Bicycle) aftermarket. The role combines technical sales and business development, working closely with engineering, industrial sales, and marketing teams to identify, develop, and convert business opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities in target markets for

    chain-to-belt conversion projects

    , develop proposals, and secure business through distributors/dealers to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Achieve sales objectives for assigned distributors/channel partners, including

    onboarding and contracting new distributors/dealers

    .
  • Define product portfolios and go-to-market strategies for each segment; prepare customer-wise sales plans in collaboration with field sales teams.
  • Work with engineering teams to offer

    customized system solutions

    tailored to customer needs.
  • Coordinate with planning and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery and service levels as per market expectations.
  • Manage payment collection and ensure debtor days are within defined targets.
  • Develop and implement

    pricing strategies

    , monitor market competition, supply, and demand.
  • Prepare

    annual sales forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses

    ; initiate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Analyze industrial chain product lines and propose belt drive solutions that offer superior total cost of ownership.
  • Prepare and support

    quotations, bids, and negotiation materials

    for C2B opportunities with customers, distributors, and dealers.
  • Conduct

    distributor and dealer meets, training programs, and participate in exhibitions

    to promote products and strengthen market presence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Operates as an individual contributor reporting to the National Sales Manager – Mobility, supporting business objectives and cross-functional coordination within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    BE/B.Tech (Mechanical/Automotive preferred); MBA is an advantage.
  • Experience:

    5 - 10 years in technical sales or business development within the

    Automotive/Industrial Chain market

    , ideally in the

    2W aftermarket sector

    .
  • Proven experience managing large distribution networks and onboarding new channel partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Required Skills

  • Strong

    techno-commercial acumen

    with excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of the

    automotive/industrial power transmission

    market.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative and drive.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a

    matrix organization

    .
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to supporting peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Structured and detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical ability.

Physical Demands / Travel

  • Willingness to travel

    60–70%

    of the time across regions to meet distributors, dealers, and customers.
  • Participation in

    trade exhibitions, distributor/dealer meets, and mechanic training programs

    is required.
  • Extended working hours may be necessary during events or special initiatives.
