Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for driving order booking and revenue growth in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar projects (60to 70%) and developing a sustainable Channel Partner network (30 to 40%) for rooftop and ground-mount solar projects. The role includes opportunity identification, client relationship management, tender coordination, and achieving assigned sales and collection targets within the allocated territory.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

1. C&I Business Development

  • Identify and develop new C&I clients (industrial parks, SMEs, institutional customers, warehouses, hospitals, etc.).
  • Present techno-commercial solar solutions and coordinate proposals with Tendering & Design teams.
  • Achieve state-wise and segment-wise sales targets.
  • Conduct site visits, load studies, and feasibility assessments.
  • Maintain and update CRM data for pipeline and customer records.

2. Channel Partner Development

  • Appoint and manage EPC/Channel Partners for sub-50 kW and small-scale projects.
  • Train partners on products, pricing, and documentation processes.
  • Monitor performance and ensure payment collection compliance.

3. Tender & Proposal Coordination

  • Support pre-bid documentation and client clarifications for B2G and C&I tenders.
  • Coordinate pricing and proposal turnaround with Tendering & Engineering.

4. Commercial & Payment Accountability

  • Follow up on milestone billing and collection from customers.
  • Support Business Head in payment recovery and PBG coordination.

5. Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor pricing, policies, and government schemes.
  • Submit monthly reports on business and competition trends.

DESIRED PROFILE:

  • Proven experience in solar EPC, rooftop, or distributed energy business.
  • Strong techno-commercial understanding of C&I and channel sales.
  • Result-oriented, accountable, and proactive in client engagement.

DESIRED KEY SKILLS:

  • Technical:

    Solar rooftop systems, tendering, C&I market exposure, load analysis.
  • Commercial:

    Negotiation, pricing strategy, customer contracts, and payment follow-up.
  • Behavioral:

    Communication, ownership, persuasion, accountability.
  • Tools:

    MS Excel, CRM tools, PowerPoint, PVsyst/AutoCAD (preferred).

Tata Power Solar, Jakson, Mahindra Susten, Fourth Partner Energy, Sunsure, CleanMax, Amplus Solar, Roofsol, Radiance, Goldi Solar EPC.
