Role Overview

We require a senior techno-functional consultant with proven experience in Microsoft

Dynamics 365 Business Central and NAV 2016. The candidate must have minimum

two end-to-end upgrade projects from NAV 2016 to Business Central, with strong

capability to analyze old customizations and map them to standard Business Central

functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead NAV 2016 Business Central upgrade projects (minimum 2 completed).
• Perform gap analysis to determine whether existing NAV customizations are

needed or covered by standard BC features.

• Recommend standard BC capabilities, ISV solutions, or redesigned extensions

to reduce customizations.

• Convert C/AL customizations into AL Extensions (Events, Subscribers, V2

Extensions).

• Handle data migration, schema mapping, configuration, UAT, and user training.
• Work closely with Finance, SCM, Inventory, Warehouse, Production teams for

process alignment.

• Evaluate ISVs for compatibility and functional coverage.
• Troubleshoot and optimize BC & NAV environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in NAV 2016 and Business Central.
• Mandatory: Minimum 2 complete upgrade projects from NAV 2016 to BC.
• Strong knowledge of latest BC features (Dimensions, Warehousing, Power

Platform, Workflows, APIs, etc.).

• Technical expertise: AL, C/AL, SQL Server, Extensions, APIs, Web Services.
• Strong functional understanding: Finance, Sales, Purchase, Inventory,

Production, Warehousing.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Optional

These are not mandatory but will be an added advantage:

• Retail industry experience (POS, store operations, retail processes, item

hierarchy).

• Advanced SQL Server skills, stored procedures, performance optimization.
• SSRS report development and report customization.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD for AL deployments.
• Knowledge of GST, E-invoice, and compliance setups (if relevant).

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in IT/Engineering/Computer Science.
• Microsoft Certification (MB-800) preferred.
