Business Analyst (IT Services | Technical-Focused)

Job Location:

software development projects and technical teams

Role Objective

The business analyst shall be responsible for end-to-end requirement engineering within an IT services delivery model, translating complex business requirements into clear, testable, and technically actionable specifications for development and QA teams, while ensuring alignment with client objectives and delivery constraints.

Mandatory Eligibility (Strict Requirement)

• Proven experience in an IT Services / Software Development organization is mandatory
  
• Must have worked on client-driven software projects (custom development / SaaS / enterprise solutions)
  
• Experience limited to non-IT domains (banking operations, finance, sales, HR, BPO/KPO, manufacturing, consulting without delivery ownership) is not acceptable
  
• Candidates without direct exposure to software delivery teams are not eligible to apply

Core Technical Responsibilities

• Perform business and system requirement analysis across web, mobile, SaaS, and enterprise platforms
  
• Elicit requirements through client workshops, technical discussions, and stakeholder interviews
  
• Convert business needs into:
  
• BRD, FRD, SRS
  
• Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  
• Process flows, data flows, and wireframes
  
• Work closely with architects and developers to define:
  
• API requirements (REST/GraphQL)
  
• Data models, entity relationships, and integrations
  
• Non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security)
  
• Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  
• Assist QA teams in test case validation, UAT planning, and defect triage
  
• Manage change requests, impact analysis, and scope control
  
• Ensure traceability between business objectives, functional requirements, and technical implementation
  

Technical & Domain Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum delivery models
  
• Working knowledge of:
  
• Web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, JSON, OAuth)
  
• Databases (SQL/NoSQL concepts, schema design, data flows)
  
• Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP conceptual understanding)
  
• Familiarity with system integrations, third-party APIs, and microservices
  
• Experience using tools such as:
  
• JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps
  
• Wireframing tools (Figma, Balsamiq, Draw.io)
  

Preferred Technical Exposure

• Experience in one or more of the following:
  
• AI/ML-driven applications
  
• Blockchain / FinTech platforms
  
• CRM, ERP, or enterprise SaaS products
  
• Understanding of presales activities, effort estimation, and solution documentation
  
• Experience working with North American / international clients
