Job Description

Role & responsibilities Supervise the daily activities and welfare of students residing in the hostel (Boys or Girls). Ensure that the hostel is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Enforce hostel rules and regulations, ensuring discipline and good conduct. Act as a mentor and provide emotional and social support to students in need. Ensure students adhere to their study schedules and provide guidance for academic concerns. Organize extracurricular activities, cultural events, and recreational programs for students. Maintain accurate records of students, including attendance, leave requests, and any incidents or complaints. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and hostel management regarding students well-being and academic progress. Ensure health and safety standards are met, including first-aid provision and emergency preparedness. Manage hostel staff (cleaners, caretakers, etc.) and coordinate their duties. Liaise with the administration for hostel supplies, maintenance, and any other needs. Foster a positive and nurturing environment that promotes students overall development. Preferred candidate profile Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Hostel Warden or in a similar role in an educational institution. Prior experience in working with students in a hostel or residential setting is preferred. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Ability to manage and mentor students effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to dealing with students. Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures. Responsible, mature, and trustworthy. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally. A caring attitude towards students welfare and development. Preferred: Prior experience in a similar hostel management role (boys' or girls' hostel). Knowledge of safety protocols, first aid, and hostel administration.
