Role & responsibilities 1. Administrative Duties Oversee daily operations of the hostel, including room allocation and maintenance. Maintain updated records of hostel residents (admission, attendance, leave, etc.). Coordinate with the administration for hostel-related issues like budget, supplies, and staffing. Ensure implementation of hostel rules and policies. 2. Supervision and Discipline Enforce discipline among hostel residents. Monitor student behavior and address disciplinary issues promptly. Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, and facilities. Supervise hostel staff including wardens, cleaners, and security personnel. 3. Student Welfare and Counseling Act as a mentor and guide for hostel residents. Provide support in case of medical or personal emergencies. Facilitate a healthy, respectful, and inclusive living environment. Address grievances or complaints from students and take appropriate action. 4. Safety and Security Ensure safety protocols are in place (fire safety, emergency exits, etc.). Supervise night attendance and restrict unauthorized entry. Coordinate with security personnel to maintain a secure environment. 5. Maintenance and Hygiene Oversee cleanliness of hostel premises. Coordinate repairs and maintenance work with the concerned departments. Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene standards are maintained. 6. Communication and Coordination Act as a liaison between students and administration. Communicate important information (notices, events, changes in rules, etc.) to residents. Organize orientation programs for new hostel residents. 7. Financial Management (if applicable) Handle hostel-related financial transactions (fees, fines, etc.).
