Job Description

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Overall Hostel Management: Responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of the hostel (boys/girls as applicable).
  • Admissions and Allotment: Supervise room allotment based on rules and seniority.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain updated records of residents, room allocation, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Liaison: Coordinate with academic, administrative, and security departments for hostel-related matters.
  • Enforce Rules and Regulations: Ensure strict adherence to hostel rules and institute policies.
  • Maintain Discipline: Address student indiscipline, conduct checks, and initiate disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Curfew and Attendance Monitoring: Enforce hostel curfew timings; take daily attendance; track latecomers.
  • Visitor Management: Supervise entry and exit of visitors; ensure proper entry in visitor logbooks.
  • Security Coordination: Work closely with security personnel to ensure the safety of students and hostel property.

Student Welfare

  • Counselling and Guidance: Act as a mentor and guide; resolve student issues related to accommodation and well-being.
  • Medical Emergencies: Handle health-related emergencies; coordinate with the institute’s medical staff or hospitals.
  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Ensure hostel premises, rooms, and washrooms are clean and well-maintained.

Maintenance & Facilities

  • Infrastructure Oversight: Report and follow up on repairs and maintenance (plumbing, electricity, furniture, etc.).
  • Inventory Management: Maintain stock of furniture, electrical appliances, and other hostel equipment.
  • Dining Coordination: Supervise quality, hygiene, and punctuality in the hostel mess; coordinate with mess contractor/catering service.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Daily/Weekly Reports: Submit periodic reports to the Institute Administration.
  • Incident Reports: Document and report any untoward incidents like fights, thefts, or emergencies.
  • Leave Management: Approve and maintain records of student leave applications and out-pass requests.
  • Familiarity with military or defence environment values.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
