British Safety Council is seeking a new Trustee with significant experience of India to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing across sectors and geographies. Our mission is clear: to protect and improve lives in the workplace. We deliver impact through practical, global solutions for workplace health, safety, wellbeing and environmental management. With operations in over 60 countries and a growing presence in India since 2017, our reach spans informal workplaces, modern industries, and everything in between.

We are seeking a Trustee who can:

• Provide strategic insight and local knowledge to support our India entity
• Strengthen governance and guide future direction with clarity and impact
• Offer an independent perspective and contribute to effective decision-making as part of a diverse Trustee Board
• Communicate with clarity and influence both verbally and in writing and build strong relationships across cultures and sectors
• Represent British Safety Council with professionalism, warmth, and credibility
• Bring strong financial and business acumen to Board level decision-making
• Uphold our mission to protect and improve lives and champion our values: human, courage, inclusivity & commitment.

Time commitment and application process

This is an unremunerated role with flexible time commitment. Board meetings are held quarterly, with remote participation supported. One annual strategic planning session may require travel to London. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and life experiences. You do not need to be based in India, but you must have substantial experience of working in or with India and knowledge of the local business landscape.
