BMS Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop

  BMS system designs

  , including architecture layouts, control strategies, riser diagrams, and network schematics tailored for IT infrastructure.
• Prepare technical documentation: control philosophies, IO summaries, point lists, cause & effect matrices, and sequence of operations (SOO).
• Coordinate with MEP, ELV, and IT teams to ensure integration of BMS with HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, access control, and IT systems.
• Select appropriate BMS hardware and field devices (sensors, actuators, controllers) based on project specifications and performance requirements.
• Design IP-based BMS networks for seamless communication and integration with

  data center infrastructure management (DCIM)

   or

  energy monitoring systems (EMS)

  .
• Create BMS technical submittals, compliance statements, and bill of materials (BoM) for client and consultant approval.
• Participate in design reviews, FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), and provide technical support during commissioning phases.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO, etc.) and meet cybersecurity best practices for smart building environments.
• Support project estimation teams with technical inputs for proposals and tender submissions.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree

   in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering.

• 3–5 years of experience

   in BMS system design, preferably in

  IT infrastructure

   or

  critical facility environments

  .
• Proficiency in developing BMS drawings and documentation using

  AutoCAD

  ,

  Revit

  , and/or BIM tools.
• Strong knowledge of BMS control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Johnson Controls, Tridium Niagara).
• Understanding of communication protocols such as

  BACnet

  ,

  Modbus

  ,

  LonWorks

  ,

  SNMP

  , and integration with IT networks.
• Experience in designing systems with a focus on

  energy efficiency

  ,

  resilience

  , and

  smart building technologies

  .
• Familiarity with integration to third-party platforms including

  DCIM

  SCADA

  EMS

  , and

  IoT systems

  .
• Good knowledge of IT networking concepts, IP addressing, and cybersecurity considerations for BMS systems.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on

   projects.
• Knowledge of

  LEED

  Uptime Institute

  Tier certifications

   is a plus.
• Ability to conduct
