Biomedical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Biomedical Engineer to join our hospital team. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of medical and diagnostic equipment. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, a passion for healthcare technology, and a commitment to patient safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair biomedical and clinical equipment such as ventilators, ECG machines, infusion pumps, patient monitors, defibrillators, imaging systems, etc.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks on all biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment performance, repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory.
• Assist in the evaluation and procurement of new medical devices.
• Train medical and nursing staff on the proper use and handling of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, national standards, and regulations (ISO, NABH, AERB, etc.).
• Collaborate with hospital departments to plan and implement equipment upgrades or replacements.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and support critical care operations.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or related engineering field.
• A Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering is an added advantage.
• Certification or training from authorized equipment manufacturers (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience in hospital biomedical engineering or clinical equipment support.
• Freshers with strong internship or training experience in hospital settings may also be considered.
