Billing Executive

Job Summary:

The Billing Executive is responsible for preparing, verifying, and processing patient bills accurately and promptly. The role involves coordinating with various hospital departments to ensure correct charge entries, insurance details, and payment collections while maintaining transparency and compliance with hospital billing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Billing & Invoicing:

• Generate inpatient, outpatient, and emergency bills accurately using the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Verify all procedures, investigations, pharmacy, and consumable charges are correctly posted.

2. Insurance & Corporate Billing:

• Coordinate with the insurance department for preauthorization and claim processing.
• Prepare and submit bills for insurance and corporate patients as per agreement terms.

3. Payment Collection & Reconciliation:

• Handle cash, card, and online payments ensuring correct receipts are issued.
• Maintain daily cash reconciliation and submit reports to the finance department.

4. Audit & Documentation:

• Ensure completeness of all billing-related documents and patient files.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate billing data.

5. Customer Service & Coordination:

• Clarify billing-related queries raised by patients or attendants politely and professionally.
• Coordinate with departments such as admissions, pharmacy, lab, and nursing for billing accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Hospital Administration, or equivalent.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in hospital billing (IP/OP).
• Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and insurance billing preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, honesty, and ability to handle patient interactions professionally.
