Job Description

Position Overview

A Billing Engineer is responsible for handling all billing operations related to property sales, leases, maintenance charges, and project-based invoicing. The role involves preparing customer statements, coordinating with sales and legal teams, tracking payments, maintaining buyer accounts, and ensuring compliance with real estate regulatory requirements such as RERA.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Invoicing

  • Prepare and issue invoices for property bookings, installments, milestones, lease rentals, and maintenance charges.
  • Generate demand letters, payment schedules, and tax invoices as per project milestones.
  • Ensure billing accuracy based on agreements, sale deeds, and RERA guidelines.

2. Customer Account Management

  • Maintain buyer ledgers, track outstanding balances, and update receipts.
  • Follow up with customers for due payments and coordinate payment reminders.
  • Resolve billing-related customer queries promptly.

3. Coordination with Internal Departments

  • Work closely with sales, CRM, legal, finance, and project teams to ensure correct billing inputs.
  • Coordinate with the legal team for agreements, amendments, and documentation-related billing requirements.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to taxation rules (GST/TDS), accounting standards, and RERA compliance.
  • Maintain well-organized billing records, agreements, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Assist in audits and provide required billing-related documentation.

5. Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Prepare periodical billing reports, MIS, outstanding reports, and collection summaries.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and project-wise revenue records with finance.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in real estate billing, CRM, or accounts (experience with RERA projects is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/CRM software, and real estate billing systems.
  • Understanding of GST, RERA guidelines, TDS, and real estate documentation.
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
