We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our IT Business Intelligence team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our data infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, and supporting business intelligence initiatives. This role combines the responsibilities of a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and a BI Analyst, focusing on data management, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric and will be expected to work closely with the customers BAU team and full-time employees (FTEs). A key responsibility will be to lead the migration of existing pipelines and the data layer from Snowflake to Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow and integration from various sources.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop data models that support business intelligence and analytics needs.

Implement and manage data warehousing solutions, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Optimize database performance and troubleshoot data-related issues.

Work closely with the IT Business Intelligence team to support data migration projects and ensure seamless data integration.

Participate in sprint reviews, planning sessions, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Provide technical support and guidance to team members on data-related tasks and projects.

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and business intelligence.

Collaborate effectively with customer BAU teams and internal FTEs to ensure smooth project execution and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Data Engineer, BI Analyst, or similar role.

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., Fabric, Synapse, SQL Server).

Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Fivetran).

Proficiency in data visualization tools – Power BI.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and data warehousing concepts (semantic modelling) and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).

Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data solutions.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

Excellent knowledge and working experience with CI/CD tools and practices and code repositories such as GitHub.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).

Experience in data migration projects, particularly from Snowflake to Microsoft Fabric.
