Job Summary
HCL Workload Automation Lab Services team (Part of HCLSoftware division) is seeking for a highly experienced and motivated Professional Services Architect with deep domain expertise in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) to help drive business growth through Consulting and solution design delivery on BFSI ecosystem. The HCL Software Lab Services team is a global organization responsible for delivering Professional Services to enable customers to gain their business values quickly by implementing HCL Workload Automation Solution.
Primarily, the Workload Automation (WLA) Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-wide workload automation and job scheduling solutions within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) ecosystem. This role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high availability of core /mission-critical Customer batch processes such as payments, settlements, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Design
- Design and implement enterprise workload automation architecture to support business-critical banking and insurance processes running across core banking systems (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube), ERP, data warehouses, and cloud platforms .
- Craft out comprehensive solutions adhering to BFSI regulatory and audit standards.
- For complex transformation projects , develop resilient , secure and scalable automation solutions to support multi/Hybrid Cloud deployment
- Automation standards, job orchestration models, and dependency management frameworks, to be applied even on during Migration from.
2. Implementation & Management
- Lead the migration, upgrade, and deployment of workload automation platforms (e.g. IBM Workload Scheduler/HWA , BMC Control-M, Broadcom , Redwood , others).
- Define batch job workflows, SLAs, calendars, event triggers, and exception handling logic, and ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and failover mechanisms for critical batch processing.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and reporting frameworks for end-to-end workload visibility.
3. Governance, Compliance & Security
- Align workload automation policies with financial data protection regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX).
- Partner with Customer Security and audit teams to ensure automation tools meet compliance requirements, being able to run risk assessments and audits to maintain compliance with enterprise IT and security standards..
- Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and secure credential management.
4. Collaboration & Leadership
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and best practices to automation engineers and operations teams
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, data teams to streamline automation across hybrid environments (on-prem, private, and public cloud).
- Participate with Project management team in incident triage and root-cause analysis for automation-related issues.
5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Drive process optimization and cost efficiency through automation standardization and orchestration maturity.
- Develop dashboards and analytics for workload optimization
- Evaluate and Consult on emerging automation technologies (RPA, AIOps, API-driven scheduling,).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Expertise in one or more of the most common Workload Automation tools
:
IBM/HCL Workload Automation (preferred, SchedulerBMC Control-M, Automic (UC4), IBM Workload Scheduler, Tidal, or equivalent. - Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Shell, or JavaScript).
- Some Experience with DevOps & Cloud integration (AWS Lambda, Azure Logic Apps, GCP Cloud Functions).
- Some experience with ITSM and monitoring tools (ServiceNow, Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace).
- Understanding of core BFSI systems and transaction workflows (payments, loans, settlements, reconciliations).
- Proficiency in database management (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and file transfer mechanisms (SFTP, MQ, API).
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and documentation capabilities.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, regulated financial environments.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Professional certification on IWS/HWA or any other among most common workload automation tools
- ITIL Foundation or Intermediate
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP Architect – Associate or above)
