Role of a Barista (Coffee Specialist) Coffee Preparation Brew espresso-based drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha, americano, etc.). Handle coffee machines, grinders, frothers with expertise. Maintain consistency in taste, strength, and presentation. Creative Beverages Craft signature coffee-based drinks (flavored lattes, cold brews, affogato, etc.). Work with seasonal menus (pumpkin spice, summer coolers, etc.). Customer Service Interact with guests at the counter/bar (explain beans, flavors, suggest drinks). Present drinks beautifully and engage in light conversation if required. Hygiene & Maintenance Clean machines daily, descale regularly, and maintain bar counters. Ensure proper storage of beans, syrups, and milk. Inventory & Cost Control Track daily usage of beans, milk, syrups. Inform Head Chef/Manager about stock needs. Role of a Bartender (Non-Alcoholic Café Style) (In your café, this role is for mocktails, shakes, smoothies, iced teas, sodas, and energy-based drinks) Drink Preparation Mix and serve mocktails, smoothies, milkshakes, juices, iced teas, and café special beverages. Maintain proper recipes, balance of sweetness, and visual appeal (garnishing, glassware). Showmanship & Service Engage with guests at bar counter (if open bar concept). Flair elements (garnishing, shaking, blending, layering) to make drinks attractive. Hygiene & Safety Keep the bar area clean, sanitized, and organized. Handle glassware carefully and avoid wastage/spillage. Stock & Coordination Monitor juices, syrups, fruits, soda, ice, glassware. Coordinate with steward/waiters for timely drink service. Innovation Suggest and create new mocktails or café-special blends to attract guests. Work with Head Chef/Manager for seasonal specials.
