Job description:

La maison is a new vegan and organic café created by three friends: an Indian and two French. Located in Anjuna-Goa, this café aims to offer a menu that is both healthy and environment-conscious.

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our team.

A barista job involves preparing and serving various beverages and food items, primarily coffee and espresso-based drinks, along with providing excellent customer service, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, taking orders, handling payments, stocking supplies, cleaning equipment and the premises, and adhering to health and safety standards to ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.

Ensure standards and quality in the daily preparation and duties/tasks assigned by the superiors

Self-update with the new products, recipes, and preparation techniques

Beverage Preparation: Brew and serve hot and cold beverages, such as espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, and specialty drinks, according to company recipes and customer preferences. 


Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, handle transactions using cash registers or point-of-sale systems, and provide menu recommendations and information.

Food Preparation: Prepare and serve food items like pastries, smoothies bowls, cakes, sandwiches, and other snacks.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage preparation equipment.

Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace by cleaning countertops, equipment, and the seating area, as well as restocking supplies.

Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and place orders as needed.

Team Collaboration: Work with other team members and managers to ensure smooth operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Multi-tasking: Efficiently handle multiple tasks, such as taking orders, preparing drinks, and managing payments during busy periods.

Communication Skills: Clearly communicate with customers and team members.

Attention to Detail: Carefully follow recipes and preparation techniques to ensure drink quality and consistency.

Food Safety Knowledge: Adhere to health and safety guidelines for handling food and beverages.

Important details:

Knowledge of English is mandatory

1 year of previous experience as a barista is mandatory

Type: Full Time (9 hours per day / 1 day off per week)

Part time job possible if you don’t need accommodation.
