Barista

Responsibilities and Duties Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, americanos), drip coffee, cold brews, and teas, following established recipes and quality standards. Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other brewing equipment. Customize drinks based on customer preferences, including milk alternatives, syrups, and temperature. Demonstrate knowledge of coffee bean origins, roast profiles, and brewing methods. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly Take customer orders accurately and efficiently. Provide menu recommendations and upsell specials or new items. Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary information. Handle cash and credit card transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally. Operations and Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including the coffee bar, countertops, and seating areas. Clean and maintain brewing equipment to ensure proper operation and hygiene. Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies, and report when restocking is needed. Follow all food safety and health regulations. Assist with other duties as needed, such as stocking shelves, cleaning, or preparing food items like pastries or sandwiches. Skills and QualificationsTechnical Skills: Knowledge of coffee and tea brewing techniques. Experience with espresso machines and grinders. Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently. Soft Skills: Excellent customer service and communication skills. A approachable, and positive attitude. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is often preferred. Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is a plus. Willingness to learn and grow within the role and the company.
