About The Opportunity
Healthcare — Hospital / Critical Care Services: A fast-paced clinical environment providing 24/7 inpatient critical care services to adult and/or pediatric patients. We are seeking an on-site Resident Medical Officer (RMO) with a BAMS or BHMS qualification to join the ICU team and deliver safe, evidence-based bedside care while collaborating closely with intensivists and multidisciplinary staff.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide direct on-site clinical care for critically ill patients: perform structured assessments, initiate stabilisation, and execute treatment plans per ICU protocols.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, ABGs, laboratory results, and bedside imaging; recognize deterioration and escalate to senior intensivist promptly.
- Manage ventilator settings, oxygen therapy, IV fluids and vasoactive medications under supervision; assist or perform emergency procedures (airway management, intubation, IV access) as per competency and hospital policy.
- Conduct regular ICU rounds and comprehensive handovers; maintain accurate, time-sensitive documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate patient care with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists and speciality consultants to implement multidisciplinary care and discharge planning.
- Adhere to infection-control practices, monitor equipment readiness, participate in quality improvement activities and follow hospital safety protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Recognised BAMS or BHMS medical degree with valid registration/licence to practise in India.
- Availability for on-site shift rotations including nights and weekends; ability to work in high-acuity settings.
- BLS mandatory; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain immediately upon joining.
- Practical familiarity with ventilator basics, oxygen/respiratory support and emergency medication administration.
- Strong clinical judgement, rapid recognition of deterioration and effective bedside decision-making.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills; competent clinical documentation in EMR.
Preferred
- Previous ICU or emergency department experience with exposure to ventilator management, central/arterial-line care and sepsis protocols.
- Experience using hospital EMR systems, ABG interpretation and familiarity with common critical-care pathways.
- Additional short courses or certifications in emergency medicine, critical care, or respiratory care.
