Job Title: Backup, Monitoring and Storage Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Backup, Monitoring and Storage Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise backup systems and storage infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, availability, and recoverability across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with backup technologies, storage arrays, and disaster recovery planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage backup solutions using tools such as Cohesity, Avamar, or Commvault.
  • Configure Monitoring alerts for Servers using Cisco tools like AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Monitor backup jobs and storage performance, ensuring optimal operation and capacity planning.
  • Perform regular data backups and restorations to validate recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure data protection and compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for backup schedules, storage configurations, and recovery procedures.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup failures, storage performance, and data access.
  • Administer and maintain storage systems including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in backup and storage administration.
  • Proficiency with backup tools (e.g., Commvault, Avamar) and storage technologies (e.g., NetApp, HPE Qumulo).
  • Experience with cloud storage platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).
  • Strong understanding of data retention policies, replication, and deduplication.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Cohesity Data Protection Associate, Storage Administration or equivalent.
  • Experience in Cisco tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Experience with backup and storage in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and data governance standards.
