Job Description

API Design & Development · Design and maintain RESTful APIs using Express.js with clean architecture (controllers → services → models). · Implement advanced MongoDB patterns: o Schema design (normalized/denormalized) o Compound, text, TTL, and indexes o Efficient aggregation pipelines and pagination · Handle secure file uploads to DigitalOcean Spaces (S3-compatible): o Multipart uploads via Multer o File validation, signed URLs, and optional image processing · Implement robust authentication: o JWT with httpOnly cookies and refresh token rotation o bcrypt password hashing, CSRF protection, rate limiting · CORS, input validation (Zod/Joi). Required Skills · ✅ 1+ years with Node.js and Express.js · ✅ Advanced MongoDB & Mongoose: indexing, aggregation, transactions, performance tuning · ✅ Experience with cloud storage (DigitalOcean Spaces, AWS S3, or similar) · ✅ Strong security mindset: auth, encryption, input sanitization · ✅ Proficiency in TypeScript, REST API design, Postman Business Logic - Implement features like cron jobs, background tasks, payment logic, assignment. - Use service-based architecture. Performance & Scalability - Query optimization and caching (Redis). - Cron jobs with node-cron. Security - Use Helmet, CORS, rate-limit. - Secure JWT strategies. - Manage environment configs. Documentation - Provide Postman collections. Collaboration - Share API contracts early. - Provide mocks or sample JSON when backend not ready. - Notify frontend of breaking changes.
