Azure Data Tech Lead & Data Architect

Role Overview

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced data solutions on the Azure platform, combining hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and project guidance. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, mentor data engineering teams, and drive the strategic adoption of Azure data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable data solutions using Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL Database, Power BI)
  
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring optimal data storage, retrieval, and governance.
  
• Lead workshops and technical sessions to define requirements, data ingestion, validation, modeling, visualization, and analytics.
  
• Manage and mentor data engineers and technical teams, guiding project execution and solution delivery.
  
• Oversee data pipeline creation, performance optimization, and troubleshooting for Azure data systems.
  
• Drive data governance, security, and compliance initiatives aligned with organizational standards.
  
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders, translating business objectives into data architecture and actionable solutions.
  
• Support project estimation, planning, and agile delivery of complex Azure data projects.
  
• Proactively optimize cost, resources, and scalability of data infrastructure.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  
• 68+ years experience in data engineering, architecture, or Azure data platform roles.
  
• Proven expertise in Azure cloud data services (ADF, ADLS, AzureSQL, Synapse, Databricks, Power BI).
  
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  
• Strong leadership, project management, and mentoring experience.
  
• Effective communicator able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Experience with on-premises Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS) is a plus.
  
• Azure data certifications (e.g., DP200, DP201) preferred.
