Job Description

Principal Consultant - Senior Site Reliability Engineer, (AWS Cloud Stack AWS Services/New Relic/Scripting)

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with experience designing, operating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS native services, hands-on automation (Python, Bash, or similar), and a proven track record with observability solutions such as New Relic for full-stack monitoring, alerting, and telemetry analytics.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure using core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, EBS, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, etc.).
Automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, and incident response using Python, Bash, or relevant scripting/automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Drive advanced observability and monitoring practices by implementing, configuring, and maintaining New Relic for AWS environments (infrastructure, applications, serverless, containers).
Design and manage CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) for automated deployment and release management.
Troubleshoot and optimize performance, reliability, and cost across multi-account and multi-region AWS setups.
Lead response and root cause analysis for major incidents; implement permanent solutions and document best practices.
Collaborate with development, security, and DevOps teams to ensure security, compliance, and operational best practices.
Mentor team members and elevate SRE practices across cloud and observability domains.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in Cloud SRE with focus on AWS cloud environments.
Strong hands-on familiarity with major AWS services, Linux systems administration, and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar for cloud automation.
Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing observability and monitoring solutions—preferably New Relic—across AWS services and applications.
Proficiency with CI/CD, automated testing, and release engineering in cloud-native environments.
Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway).
Knowledge of AWS security, IAM, and cost optimization best practices.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) and/or New Relic certifications.
Experience with log aggregation, distributed tracing, and advanced telemetry analytics.
