Job Summary

Mistral is seeking a Functional Safety (FuSa) Process Assessment Engineer to support the

evaluation, compliance, and continuous improvement of automotive safety processes in

alignment with ISO 26262 and ASPICE standards. The role involves assessing development

processes across Systems, Hardware, and Software domains while ensuring adherence to

quality management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform automotive development and FuSa process assessments as per

    ASPICE & ISO 26262

    .
  • Manage compliance with standard QM practices (

    ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.

    ).
  • Assist Project Managers in maintaining project process requirements as per

    Mistrals QMS and ASPICE

    .
  • Develop and prepare

    QA plans

    for in-process and final testing, and coordinate reviews/approvals with authorities or customers.
  • Review work products (

    SWE1SWE6, HWE1HWE6, SYS1SYS6

    ) for compliance.
  • Drive

    FMEA, FMEDA, FTA

    , and risk management activities.
  • Conduct

    gap analysis

    and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support

    internal/external audits

    , process compliance reviews, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with

    Systems, Hardware, and Software teams

    to ensure process alignment.
  • Prepare compliance documentation and

    assessment reports

    .
  • Maintain

    assessment templates, checklists, and process documentation

    .
  • Train and guide teams on

    FuSa process requirements and best practices

    .

Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters in

    Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or related field

    .
  • 5 to 8 years

    of experience in FuSa process assessment and Quality Management.

Ideal Key Technical Skillset

  1. Strong knowledge of

    ISO 9001 (QMS), ASPICE, and ISO 26262 (FuSa) Standards

    .
  2. Experience in

    process assessment and quality assurance

    for both hardware and software development in automotive or non-automotive industries.
  3. Familiarity with

    Systems, Hardware, and Software safety development life cycles

    .
  4. Experience in

    Automotive HW & SW Verification processes

    on automotive test benches.
  5. Hands-on experience in

    FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, Safety Case preparation, and Safety Audits

    .
  6. Experience in

    FuSa assessment

    on multi-core microcontrollers and SOCs (TI, NXP, Infineon, Renesas) and various

    safety-critical automotive applications

    .
  7. Strong

    analytical, reporting, and communication skills

    .

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP)

    or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of

    ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity Process Assessment

    is an added advantage.
