Automotive Model-Based Development (MBD) Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop Simulink/State flow control logic models for automotive ECU functions.
• Convert Requirements Model (Req-to-Model) and maintain traceability.
• Build application blocks/models:
• Controller, Mode Manager, CAN Message Handler, Diagnostics Handler/Monitor, Fault Handler, Function-call subsystems / function callers, basic application models.
• Create and maintain test artifacts using Simulink Test (Test Manager/Test Sequence) and MATLAB scripts.
• Execute MIL/SIL: unit testing, integration testing, regression testing Interface/Requirement/Fault Injection Testing; produce test evidence (reports/logs).
• Perform static checks using Model Advisor + MAAB and run/support Polyspace analysis; ensure closure with evidence.
• Support Model-to-C using Embedded Coder + AUTOSAR Coder and C-to-Model conversion for legacy C modules.
• Collaborate with BSW/Integration/Validation teams; use Git/SVN and Jira/Redmine.
• Implement models from requirements/design notes
• MATLAB scripting for automation (test execution, data processing, reports)
• Debug MIL/SIL failures and support regression runs
• Own model architecture and lead reviews/technical decisions
• Strong AUTOSAR integration skills for CAN message handling and diagnostics/fault reaction logic
• Drive verification strategy and automation; mentor juniors
• Own the complete Polyspace static analysis lifecycle from execution and triage to justification and closure of findings while driving automation, improvisation, and team-wide efficiency to ensure compliance with ASPICE/AUTOSAR standards.
