Job Description

Automation Engineer (4+ Years Experience – Siemens PLC Specialist)
Position Title:Automation Engineer – Siemens PLC ExpertLocation: Kolkata with extensive travelling for service support.Experience Required:Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation with Siemens PLC systems.Key Responsibilities:Programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs, primarily using STEP 7 and TIA Portal.Designing and implementing automation solutions for industrial machinery and production lines.Develop and modify HMI/SCADA screens using Siemens WinCC or other compatible platforms.Work with control systems including S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500 PLC families.Conduct field testing, debugging, and on-site support during system installations or upgrades.Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams for project integration.Document technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and program logic clearly.Technical Skills Required:Strong experience with Siemens PLCs: STEP 7 (Classic) and TIA Portal (V13-V19).Knowledge of Siemens HMI and SCADA tools (WinCC, WinCC Flexible).Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and ladder logic.Experience with fieldbuses and industrial communication protocols: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.Basic understanding of control panel design and electrical troubleshooting.Exposure to other automation brands (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) is a plus.Experience in robotic integration or motion control systems.Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, actuators, and related industrial components also preferable. Travel to customer sites on regular basis.Education:Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering fields.Soft Skills:Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.Effective communication and documentation.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Customer-oriented mindset.
